Rebecca V. Garcia

August 10, 1932 - September 10, 2019

Rebecca V. Garcia came into this world on August 10, 1932 to Alejandro Vasquez and Maria Solis. She went to be with our heavenly father on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the age of 87. For those that knew Rebecca, she had a way of making you feel instantly welcome in her home. She enjoyed sharing stories about her childhood and the humble, but remarkable life she led. Rebecca grew up working in cotton fields as a young girl and loved the outdoors. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening and her home was surrounded by lush trees and plants. She loved taking trips to the coast and visiting family in Taylor, TX. Rebecca was also an artist and the greatest pen pal to many. She sang in church for years and was always drawing or creating scrapbooks. Her artworks reflected her ability to take something ordinary and make it extraordinary. Although Rebecca had an army of family and friends, she made each one of us feel treasured. You could expect a birthday or holiday card from her every year. She always seemed to find something at the thrift store or The Dollar Store just because it made her think of you. You could count on Rebecca for a listening ear, a story that made you laugh when you needed it the most, or even a warm bed to sleep in during tough times. She was truly a light in this world and in our family. It is an immense understatement to say that she will be missed, but we are so blessed to have had 87 beautiful years with her. Mrs. Garcia is preceded in death by her Loving Husband, Stanley Garcia; Son, Paul Garcia and Granddaughter, Kristen Collins. She is survived by her Children, John Garcia (Gloria), Mike Garcia (Mary), Jacob Garcia, Laura Edwards (Ken), Sandra Alvarado (Simon), Patricia Garcia; 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will begin on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel. A Prayer Service will be held Monday Evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Camero Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery in Von Ormy, Tx. Care has been entrusted to Camero Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.camerofuneralhome.com
