Rita H. Estrada of Poteet, Texas passed away at the age of 70 on April 7, 2022. Rita passed at her home with her caring family by her side. Rita was born on May 22, 1951 to Doniso and Encarnacion Hernandez in Glendale Arizona. Her family later moved to Texas where she met Alfredo P. Estrada and married him on December 9, 1972. Rita is lovingly remembered by her Husband, Alfredo P. Estrada; Children, Gabriel Estrada, Melinda Estrada-Kastner (Mark), Randy Estrada; Grandchildren, Isaak Estrada, Adam “Alex” Estrada-Factor, Marcus Estrada, Andi Estrada, Mckenzie Kastner, Selena Estrada, Bailey Kastner, Abrielle Estrada, Alana Estrada, Kendall Kastner, Kaidence Estrada; Sisters, Margarita, Maria, Pauline, Andrea, Adelita, Alicia, and Rosie; Brothers, Miguel, Daniel, Steven; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rita is preceded in death by her Parents, Doniso Hernandez, and Encarnacion Gonzalez; Sister, Carmelita; Brothers, Armando, and Rudolfo. In her spare time you could find Rita crocheting, drawing, painting, and coloring. She loved to have a good game of dominos and would often be found with a good crossword puzzle in her purse. Rita’s strongest belief was in family, throughout her years she made memories that will last lifetimes with her 11 grandchildren. She loved to see and experience new things as she visited many destinations like Florida, Arizona, Germany, Paris, and Amsterdam. Even as a world-traveler she never forgot her Navajo roots. She loved attending pow wows with her family and loved feeling so closely connected to her ancestors. Rita was loved by many and will always be remembered as a strong mother figure not only to her own children but to many. She loved unconditionally. She would always lift your spirits with a nice hot meal. And even though she is gone her recipes will continue on. Rita will never go forgotten as her firm love touched so many people. Even in her darkest days she always believed that the glass is half full, and that patience is a virtue. She brought a great light to this world, even though she is gone the light will remain with us forever. A memorial service will take place Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Pleasanton Civic Center, 115 N Main St, Pleasanton, TX 78064. Care has been entrusted to Camero Funeral Home
